8 Gross Diets: People Living on Diet Coke, Tic Tacs and Roadkill [SLIDESHOW]
Kinda Makes You Feel Less Bad About That All-Ben & Jerry's Diet You've Been Considering, Right?
We won't keep you in suspense: the grossest diet we've ever heard of is the all-roadkill eating plan consumed by Englishman Jonathan McGowan, one of the "8 Most Disturbing Diets" detailed in the Oddee.com feature of the same name.

And yes, the diet all-roadkill diet is exactly what it sounds like. The 44-year-old McGowan, who, it might come as no surprise, is a bachelor, has been noshing on roadkill for nearly 30 years.
He began his odd practice during his college years to save money, and he does have some rules about his diet, namely that he doesn't kill the animals he consumes … he only eats the mice, moles, hedgehogs, pigeons, crows and other animals he finds dead along the road or in the woods.
McGowan, who works as a taxidermist and gives lectures about his unusual diet, says among his favorite meats are rats and foxes, which, of course, taste like chicken. In a feature on his diet in the U.K. Daily Mail, he shares his recipes for such treats as Owl Curry, Roadkill Badger Stew and Roadkill Pigeon Au Vin.

Yum?
Meanwhile, though McGowan takes the cake (which we would be afraid to eat if it came from his oven) in terms of the grossness of his diet, as Oddee.com reports, his is definitely not the only extreme way people choose to get their daily sustenance.
A few other disturbing dieters in the Oddee.com feature:
-- A man -- a nutritional expert, no less -- who lost 27 pounds eating nothing but Twinkies and other pre-packaged junk food;
-- A 33-year-old woman who has eaten nothing but cheese pizza since she was two-years-old;
-- A 17-year-old who can stomach nothing but Tic Tac mints;
-- And a man who spends more than $120 a week on his Diet Coke habit.
