33 Pound Tumor Removed From 2 Year-Old Boy
33-pound tumor was removed from 26-pound boy during 10-hour procedure
2-year-old Jesus Rodriguez has the doctors at Mexico City's La Raza Medical Center to thank for removing a 33 pound tumor from his body.
According to Dr. Gustavo Hernandez, the director of pediatrics at La Raza Medical Center, the child was born with a lump that ultimatelygrew tolarge enough to protrude from the right side of his body, extending from his armpit to his hip.

The doctors from the Mexico City hospital ended up removing the tumor after an intricate procedure that lasted nearly 10 hours. (The procedure was also distinguished by the fact that it was the first time IMexican doctors had ever removed a tumor that was larger than the person it was attached to.)
This story has a happy ending, as Rodriguez is "recovering and doing well", according to the doctor, and is presumably overjoyed that he no longer is shackled with a growth that weighed more than him.
