13-Year-Old 'Modern Family' Star Nolan Gould Graduates From High School [VIDEO]
He's Also a Mensa Member and Plays Several Instruments … (Despite Playing the Dim-Witted Luke on the ABC Emmy Winner)
Want proof that 13-year-old Modern Family star Nolan Gould is a really good actor? The teen plays the sometimes not-so-bright Luke Dunphy on the Emmy-winning comedy, but in real life, he's a member of Mensa (with a 150 IQ) and he just graduated from high school.

In fact, as Gould revealed during an appearance on Ellen this week, he plans to soon start taking college courses.
"Over the summer I did a lot of studying and I took an exam and tested at high school, so I'm hopefully going to go on and do some online community college courses," Gould told Ellen DeGeneres.
While on the show, Gould also showed off his banjo-playing skills for the host, who had gifted him with a banjo the last time he was on her show. He also plays the didgeridoo and mandolin, and DeGeneres gifted him with another instrument -- the sitar -- to add to his hobby of learning to play less mainstream instruments.
The precocious Gould, who began his appearance on Ellen by proving he's also mastered the "Gangnam Style" dance, did share with DeGeneres that there's one downside to all his success at such a young age.

"As I'm driving in my limo (to last month's Emmy Awards ceremony), I'm like, 'Wait a second, I'm 13, this is my third time at the Emmys … It's like, what am I supposed to do with the rest of my life? It's kind of all downhill from now," he joked.
That pretty much sums up why so many former child stars have such a tough time when they reach adulthood, but the fact that he makes that joke means, we think, that there's probably not a lot to worry about as far as his future is concerned.
