2012 Emmy Nominations: 'Downton Abbey,' 'Mad Men' & 'American Horror Story' Lead the Way
Mad Men and AHS Lead With 17 Nominations Each
An old Emmy fave -- Mad Men -- and a new series -- American Horror Story -- lead the 2012 primetime Emmy nominations with 17 each, but another new series, the breakout hit PBS drama Downton Abbey, stole the show with 16 nominations, including nods in most of the major categories.

The History Channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys also scored an impressive 16 nominations, followed by the HBO movie Hemingway & Gellhorn with 15, Modern Family and Saturday Night Live with 14 each and Breaking Bad, 30 Rock and Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia with 13 each.
Some noteworthy snubs among the nominees: no comedy series nominations for Louie, Parks and Recreation or Community; no comedy lead actor nomination for Joel McHale (Community); and no drama series nominations for The Good Wife, Justified or Sons of Anarchy (and no individual nominations for Justified or Sons of Anarchy stars).
