Adam Lambert's Joining Queen?
Adam Lambert to Join Queen for One Epic Show
Rumors recently swirled that Adam Lambert would be joining the legendary band Queen, replacing frontman Freddie Mercury.
While it's true that Lambert is on board to play with Queen this summer, he is not intended to replace Mercury permanently.
Who could, really?
Lambert will play just one concert with Queen this summer, at the Sonisphere 2012 festival.
Queen bandmembers Brian May and Roger Taylor confirmed that Lambert is on board to sing with the group at the second day of the Sonisphere 2012 rock festival on July 7 at Knebworth Park in England.
Lambert, who was runner up on American Idol, sang "We Are the Champions" with Queen on the Idol finale in 2009 and performed with the band at last year's MTV Europe Awards.
Lambert took to Twitter to share the epic news, writing: "I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert!"
He added, "Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!"

Queen guitarist Brian May said in a press release: "Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It's a worthy challenge for us, and I'm sure Adam would meet with Freddie's approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush."
Mercury's final concert with Queen was also at Knebworth, in August 1986.
Earlier this month, Lambert had to quiet rumors that he would be joining Queen, when a Daily Star newspaper printed the following quote:
"The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of... After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of backlash from people saying, 'You can't replace Freddie Mercury.' But I already knew that. There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honor and one I'm in no way going to shirk."

Lambert took to Twitter to clarify, tweeting: "Them clever reporters taking my quotes outta context... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMAs... That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions."
