Alex Rodriguez's Whopping Salary
You'd have Greek centaur paintings of yourself too...
With the New York Yankees leading the 2009 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies (the wins-losses record stood at 3-2 after Game 5), we were just curious...how much money does Yankees' star third baseman Alex Rodriguez make?
The answer kinda made us want to be Kate Hudson.
Right now A-Rod's contract entitles him to nearly $28 million a year with the New York Yankees -- for TEN YEARS, until 2018 when he's 43 years old (which is ancient in baseball years). When he signed on in 2008, the pricetag put him at the Number One spot of the list of the largest contracts in sports, ever.
Who's number two? Well, A-Rod. From 2002 to 2008 it's said he had a $25 million annual contract with the Texas Rangers. He jumped ship to play for New York, which is exactly around the time when he and Madonna were thought to be carrying on together.
Okay, so who's Number Three? Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who's said to make almost $22 million a year. For that price we'd almost agree to be the ex of either of these bat-boys... wonder if Jeter keeps paintings of himself as a centaur around his bedroom like A-Rod does?
