Alexander McQueen's Label Will Go On
Not forgotten
Nobody knew what would happen after we got word that Alexander McQueen had committed suicide last week. But now we're getting word that Alexander's label will be going on without him.
The whole fashion world is incredibly sad to see Alexander McQueen gone, but we're all breathing a sigh of relief now that we know that Gucci will make sure his work will go on. According to Gucci Group CEO Robert Polet, "I believe strongly in the Alexander McQueen brand and its future."
The Fashion Week show for McQueen's McQ label was canceled because of his death, but the runway collection for the Alexander McQueen Collection will be held on March 9 at Paris Fashion Week.
And the head of PPR, the luxury group that controls McQueen's companies says, "Lee Alexander [McQueen] was a pure genius and a poet who was imaginative and original. His art went beyond the fashion world. The Alexander McQueen trademark will live on. This is the best tribute that we could offer to Lee."
We hope Alexander McQueen's label lives for a long, long time.
