Amber Heard and Leighton Meester are 'Cowgirl Bandits'

In the upcoming movie Cowgirl Bandits, Leighton Meester and Amber Heard star as two women who form an unlikely friendship and decide to hit the road, leaving behind a trail of destruction and mayhem. Can you say Thelma & Louise 2?

In the original road movie from 1991, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis play ladies on the run from the police. Their dangerous adventures escalate as they blowup cars, rob cops and, in the film's famous climax, drive off a cliff while holding hands.

According to Production Weekly, the new Heard and Meester movie, Cowgirl Bandits, will be a "young version" of Thelma & Louise.

So if the two young actresses want to at least match the chemistry and success of Davis and Sarandon, they have their work cut out for them. Amber Heard can currently be seen as a ravenous zombie neighbor in Zombieland, while Leighton Meester is queen bee Blair Waldorf on The CW's Gossip Girl.
