American Idol Winner Injured in Car Crash

Season 8 American Idol winner was injured in a serious car wreck on new year's day

Chris Allen, his wife and dog were involved in a bad car crash on January first. He tweeted about the incident.

The update about the crash wasn't the only news he shared in the tweet Tuesday night. He's also going to be a first-time dad.

"Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I’m having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy”   He also had this to say. "Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup [his dog] and the little one we have on the way safe.”

Allen's mother, Kimberley also got on Twitter to say that her son was in a lot of pain and that he probably won't be able to play the guitar for a while. She also asked that his fans pray for a speedy recovery.
