Amy's Duds

When you think of Amy Winehouse, you might think of grit and grime. From those dirty ballet slippers to her frequently unwashed hair, she's not particularly inspiring... or so we thought. Here's news on Amy Winehouse's new collaboration with Fred Perry.

Amy Winehouse has been spotted frequently wearing British designer Fred Perry's sportswear pieces, along with those skinny jeans, slippers, and a bouffant hairdo. Now the fresh firm released news that Amy won't just be buying their clothes in the future, but adding design touches here and there.

"I'm really excited," Winehouse said this week about the collaboration. "We've been working on it for a while and it's great to see it finally come to fruition."

We're doing our best to withhold judgment, but as you know with Amy Winehouse, it's hard. The singer added a touch of punk style to capri pants and jazzed up some polos, states Fred Perry reps, and she added finishing touches on things like the company's "Harrington jacket" and "jumper dress."

Fred Perry sent out a release to all media outlets confirming (and defending) their choice.

"It's Amy all over -- sharp, clever, sexy, lots of attitude -- but stays true to the Perry aesthetic and unrivalled heritage. and still remain instantly recognizable."

Even the managing director, John Flynn, had something to say about Amy's announcement, commenting, "We have had a great relationship with her over the years as she has been a loyal fan and supporter. Amy's sense of style and attitude to music and fashion pervades through this collaboration. We hope her fans and our fans will feel the same way."

I'm curious, but I'm not buying. What about you?
