What's up with celebs and their health today? First we heard about Frankie Muniz having a minor stroke at the tender age of 26 and now comes word that Anderson Cooper (he of the dreamy baby blues and canceled talk show) has gone temporarily blind.
Sharing the news of his misfortune with folks on Instagram, Cooper let it be known that while on assignment in portugal he'd gone blind for two days due to a reaction his eyes had to the strong sun's rays hitting the water.
"Temporarily blinded last week while on assignment," he said matter-of-factly. "UV light bouncing off water. Much better now."
The now openly gay son of famed jeans designer Gloria Vanderbilt expounded a bit more about the experience later on his talk show. "I wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like my eyes are on fire. It turns out I have sunburned my eyeballs and I go blind. I went blind for 36 hours. I took this [Instagram] picture of me after I went to the hospital," he said. Then joked that it was his new Match.com profile pic. Always the cut up.
