Angelina Jolie Opens Up On Shiloh's Tomboy Tendencies
Jolie says she and Shiloh are very similar.
Angelina Jolie is telling all in Vanity Fair, opening up about family life with Brad Pitt ("I actually feel safe enough to imagine growing old together," Jolie says), how motherhood has changed her "closed-off" spirit and how she deal with daughter Shiloh's interest in behaving like a little boy.
Hollywood Life has the report. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who turned four in late May, has been the cause for a good deal of criticism pointed at Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. For over a year, Shiloh has reportedly preferred to dress like a boy and wears a very short haircut. While some experts suggest that it's totally healthy for a child to express her identity this way, many people have wondered why Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt don't require her to act more like a girl. Here's what Jolie, 35, told Vanity Fair about Shiloh: "She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers." Jolie said that of her children, she most identifies with Shiloh; that mom and daughter are both "goofy and verbal."
There's been rumor that Jolie is about to adopt a seventh child -- she says it could happen and that motherhood has opened her up again after being in a "darker" and "closed-off" place in her life -- but: "We want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They're kids now, and can play together, but they're going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."
Meanwhile, Jolie says that she and Brad Pitt definitely see themselves staying together: "[...] It's for life," she says of their relationship, and on whether they'll get married, Jolie revealed, "It's like we already are ... I feel fortunate to have a relationship where I actually feel safe enough to imagine growing old together."
