Brad and Angelina Gave Away $6 Million to Charities
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie doubled their charitable donations in 2008, according to the tax returns from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. While the charity had $13 million in it, half of that was distributed amongst large and small groups all over the world. How generous! It's hard to hate on a couple that's saving lives and building schools and houses.
Brad's Make It Right foundation received $1 million, while Global Health and Human Rights Watch received $2 and $1 million, respectively.
That's not all, though: the two also gave $500,000 to the Armed Services YMCA of the U.S. Army, $50,000 to the Springfield, Missouri Public School, and about a million dollars to projects in Cambodia. Crazy.
It sounds like the couple already known for their philanthropic work has struck again! While the two have been at the center of a fair deal of negative headlines and controversy, at least they're letting their actions speak loud and clear. Don't forget that it was only earlier this year that Brad Pitt decided to skip an appearance that would have netted him $5 million just to trick-or-treat with his kids.
