Angelina Jolie's Dad: We've Made Amends...Almost
Jon Voight says his conflict with Angelina is nearly over.
Seven years ago Jon Voight stepped onto Access Hollywood and made a plea for his daughter Angelina Jolie to get help for her "serious mental problems." Jolie, who dropped the name Voight years ago to take her middle name as her surname, stopped talked to her dad, and their contact has been extremely limited since. However, dad Voight says, they're making progress.
Jon Voight, 70, has stepped forward to inform reporters that he and daughter Angelina are "in touch, but not regularly. We love each other and that's the most important thing."
Apparently Voight and Jolie met up last February to make amends, and a family friend tells reporters that Brad Pitt has played a key part in the reunion. "Angie made the initial contact ... Brad has been supportive -- a key factor in her reaching out."
So why is Voight reaching out to reporters at this particular moment? Turns out he's part of a wine documentary called Corked which debuted at the Rome Film Festival in late October. Sounds like Jon Voight may be pulling a Michael Lohan, eh? Hey Jon Voight, if Angelina was ever a cutter like Lindsay Lohan was, we're warning you: we don't want to know.
