Anna Nicole Smith's life has been confirmed as the inspiration for an opera that will open in London in 2011...but was Anna Nicole Smith a soprano?

The actess who's playing her is. Eva-Maria Westbroek is a 39-year-old Dutch soprano who will sweep the stage in the role of Anna Nicole Smith at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden, beginning February 17, 2011.

Smith was 39 when she passed away of a drug overdose in 2007, after her marriage to oil mogul J. Howard Marshall who was 63 years older than Anna. As she started out as a stripper and went on to become one of the most famous and lusted-after models of all time, Smith's life was so superlative (read: strange) that the creators behind the Anna Nicole Smith opera are the same ones who did Jerry Springer: The Opera.
