Anna Wintour Tries to Woo Kate Middleton For 'Vogue' Cover
Vogue Wants Kate Middleton To Be a Cover Girl
It's not surprising that fashion magazines all over the globe are clamoring to make Kate Middleton a cover girl, but Vogue editrix Anna Wintour is campaigning the hardest to land the newlywed's first photo shoot.
Page Six reports that Wintour, who is a woman known for getting what she wants, when she wants it, is working her long-standing friendship with photgrapher Mario Testino to score the cover coup.
"Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate," a source tells the gossip column. "She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover."
Testino has an excellent relationship with the royal family and is the photographer behind Middleton and Prince William's engagement portraits.
"Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue," another insider says. "But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it's not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate."
