Franklin, 68, has been forced to postpone what would have been her first-ever concert in Brooklyn after fracturing two of her ribs. Doctors say she is suffering from abdominal pain and will need to undergo further tests.
Amazingly, in her 50+ years as the most famous voice in soul music, Ms. Franklin has never performed in Brooklyn. She was set to perform two NY shows -- one for U.S. Representative Charles Rangel's birthday party on August 11, and another in Brooklyn on August 12.
But now it looks like the borough will have to wait for the Queen.

"I was very much looking forward to being in Brooklyn and having a foot-long hot dog at Coney Island," the singer said in a statement. "Hopefully, I will get it before the end of August."
Just last week Franklin performed a concert in Philadelphia with former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice on piano.
