Arrest Warrant Issued For Grateful Dead Drummer Mickey Hart
Details Still Sketchy
Even hippies run afoul of the law. Mickey Hart, former drummer for Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead, is being sought by police following a reported assault after a recent show.
Kentucky police issued an arrest warrant for the 69-year-old Hart after he allegedly assaulted someone after a performance on Saturday by the Mickey Hart Band at Terrapin Hill Farm in Harrodsburg.
Details on the assault were not released, but Hart's publicist sayss the musician is "totally baffled" by the claim and that it's completely false and without basis.
Harrodsburg Police Lt. Chad Powell says the investigation is ongoing
Hart, whose real name is Michael Hartman, was the drummer for The Grateful Dead from 1967 to 1971 and then again from 1974 to 1995, the year lead singer Jerry Garcia died.
