Are ripped jeans a style no-no?

Is it just us or have you noticed that Audrina Patridge seems to be wearing ripped jeans everywhere? They seem to be all the rage with celebrities lately, but Audrina is especially a fan. While ripped jeans aren't our favorite look, we do think Audrina can pull them off pretty well.

We feel like our mothers for saying this, but we sometimes wonder what the point of ripped jeans is. They usually cost extra, they can look a bit trashy, and just seem kind of ridiculous to us.

But whenever The Hills' star Audrina Patridge wears them, she seems to ooze casual style and generally look hot. We think she can pull them off because she's not trying too hard while wearing them. Audrina sports her ripped jeans when she's feeling casual and throws them on with a tee and flip-flops.

We've also seen Audrina looking super stylish, so we know she can dress up when the situation calls for it. And that makes her casual ripped jeans moments a bit more acceptable to us.

Here are our tips for pulling off ripped jeans like Audrina Patridge:

* There's a time and place for ripped jeans. Make sure you only wear them in appropriate settings.

* Wear them for a casual look with a pair of flip-flops and a tank or tee.

* Don't wear any elaborate hairdos with ripped jeans. Pull your hair back.

* If you want a dressier look, we like skinny ripped jeans. Make sure they're a darker wash as well.

We think some of the classiest ripped jeans include these Skinny Wishing Well Jeans from Current/Elliot and these super inexpensive ZCO Distressed Skinny Jeans.

What do you think of Audrina Patridge and her ripped jeans? Can she pull it off or does she need to re-think her style? Do you wear them?
