Australia Wants You to Know About Britney Spears Lip-Synching

If you're going to pay hundreds of dollars to see your favorite singer in concert, wouldn't you want to know what kind of show you're going to get? That's what Australia is thinking, as they're looking at warning fans that upcoming Britney Spears concerts will feature plenty of lip-synching.
Officials in Australia are worried that fans will be mislead because they don't realize a portion of the concerts will be lip-synched. After all, Spears and company are charging up to $1300 for tickets.
According to Virgina Judge, Sydney's Minister for Fair Trading, Australians have a right to know that the show will feature music they could just hear at home.
"It is Britney's 'prerogative' to lip-sync," she said, "and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front."
One of the options considered is to put disclaimers on tickets and promotional materials, saying that aspects of the show will be pre-recorded and not actually live. Still, since most of the shows in Australia have already sold out, there would probably be no effect on ticket sales.
As for Judge herself, she would prefer to see an Aussie in concert. "Personally I would rather see a live set from a local artist," she said, "but I am sure Britney's fans will be treated to a spectacular show."
