Avril Lavigne, Deryck Whibley Divorce Finalized

Avril Lavigne's divorce has been in the works since summer, but in a breaking report, Deryck Whibley is officially her ex-husband. Here's how Avril says she's moving on, along each side scored.

Avril Lavigne filed for divorce in July, citing "irreconcirable differences" for split from her husband of four years, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. Since the split, Avril's been linked to a handful of Hollywood hotties, including Kardashian stepbrother Brody Jenner.

So while it already looked like Avril Lavigne was a single lady (she listed the official separation date as Sept. 2009), papers Tuesday made it official. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the terms of the Lavigne-Whibley divorce and gave both artists rights to their own song catalogues, awards and musical equipment -- namely pricey guitars. Thanks to a prenuptial agreement written up in '06, neither Lavigne nor Whibley will pay spousal support, and the young couple had no children and thus no custody arrangement.

Last week Avril Lavigne updated her website to tell fans that her new album is likely to come out in January. Avril hinted that her breakup from Deryck Whibley got some play in the tracks, saying, "This has been a really difficult record for me to create and to release. Not only is this the most meaningful and special record I have written, it is sincere, honest and close to my heart."
