According to a recent study by research firm Mintel, items on fast food and restaurant menus are selling over 26% better than they were in 2005. Thanks to market interest, we're witnessing a special bacon boom like never before. Are you into bacon?

The "Bacon Explosion": A San Diego restaurant offers an ice cream sandwich peppered with chunks of candied bacon, which is probably pretty good after you've eaten a Bacon Explosion (bacon and sausage wrapped in... more bacon).

Vosges Bacon-Caramel Easter Eggs: Vosges' bacon-flavored chocolate outsells its other standard flavors by a ration of 2:1. Katrina Markoff of Vosges has also perfected her chocolate-bacon pancake mix and bacon-caramel toffee. Next up? Easter treats with a hint of bacon.

Archie McPhee Novelties: Want to wrap up a cut? Why not do it with a bacon bandage, and then pop some Bacon Mints, shown, into your mouth to chill out for a bit? The marketing manager of the novelty firm admitted that bacon's popularity is thanks to its great taste... and its ability to cut through politically-correct eating campaigns.
