'Bad Boys 3' In the Works
Whatcha gonna do?
There's nothing Hollywood loves more than a big blockbuster of a sequel. Audiences already know the characters, studios already know it will make money and fans already know the explosions will be that much bigger. Bad Boys, the film that launched the careers of Will Smith and Michael Bay, is set for a third installment.
Columbia Pictures has greenlighted the film, and though neither Smith, director Bay or Martin Lawrence have signed on, the three parties have reportedly expressed a willingness to jump on board should the script be right.
For that job, the studio has hired screenwriter Peter Craig. Craig co-wrote Ben Affleck's new directorial venture, The Town, and he is also currently working on an adaptation of the anime classic Cowboy Bebop with Keanu Reeves.
The original 1995 Bad Boys film starred Smith and Lawrence as detectives in the Miami Police Department. There they uncover an international drug ring, take part in some spectacular car chases and wise crack their way through the popular cop-buddy movie.
