Beckham No Longer Armani Knickers Boy
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo replacing David Beckham as -- ahem -- the new "face" of Armani Underwear.
I think I just cried a little. Out of Milan Tuesday came news from Emporio Armani, who announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will be the new model for their Men's Underwear brand. Ronaldo will also model Armani Jeans.
This comes as sad news for the millions of us who loved Beckham's bright whites sprawled across fashion billboards, even when he shared the spread with wife Victoria.
Billboards and glossies aren't the only place where Ronaldo has replaced Beckham. When Becks signed to Real Madrid in 2003, Ronaldo took his coveted spot on the Manchester United team. New York Daily News says Ronaldo is the highest-paid football player in the world, making a $130 million move from Man U to Real Madrid last June.
Get ready to see Ronaldo's goods starting with Armani's Spring/Summer 2010 line.
