Armstrong Was Honest About Admitting to Abuse While Taping

In the weeks before he committed suiciide, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Taylor Armstrong reportedly told her estranged husband, Russell, that she'd admitted to the fact that he beat her -- while filming the show and that the admission would more than likely be shown on the air.

According to RadarOnline, during at least one point during filming their reality tv show, Taylor's castmates prodded and poked and she finally came clean, admitting that, yes, Russell did hit her.

"Russell was told by Taylor that she had said on camera that he had hit her on numerous occasions in the past. Russell was naturally upset that Taylor chose to reveal this publicly, but he felt there was nothing he could do about it. Russell learned about this approximately a month and a half before his suicide," a source told RadarOnline.

Last month, shortly after Russell hung himself at a friend's house, came the news that in June Taylor had been beaten so badly that she required reconstructive surgery. In July, she filed for divorce, citing "explosive arguments."

For his part, Russell (kind of) admitted to PEOPLE magazine that things had gotten a little out of control at times during their six year marriage. 'Did I push her? Yes, maybe things happened in the heat of the moment, but it was during a time in our lives that was not characteristic of who we were,' he said. 'This show has literally pushed us to the limit.'

Bravo has said that they've edited several of the shows -- and that Russell won't appear in the first few -- but that he will appear later on in the season.

No word on whether the scene in which Taylor admitted to the abuse will air.
