'Beverly Hills Cop' TV Series in the Works?
Everything old is new again! Beverly Hills Cop is planning a comeback of sorts -- this time on the small screen.
Will you tune in for a Beverly Hills Cop TV show?
This sort of has "meh" written all over it, but it's interesting to note that Eddie Murphy is attached to the project.

Does that mean that Murphy will reprise his character Axel Foley?
Sort of.
Vulture is reporting that, according to inside sources, Murphy, The Shield creator Shawn Ryan and Sony Pictures Television are teaming up to adapt Beverly Hills Cop for a TV series.
Murphy would serve as executive producer, but would also appear on the pilot episode, as well as make some guest starring appearances.
The 1984 hit Beverly Hills Cop featured Murphy as Detroit cop Axel Foley, tracking down a murderer in Beverly Hills.
Seeing a Detroit cop in the Beverly Hills landscape made for a pretty solid comedy and Murphy played one of his funniest roles ever in the film.
Hey, if they can reprise 21 Jump Street as a movie, why not bring back Beverly Hills Cop on TV?

Last year, Murphy mentioned in an interview that a new series would follow Axel Foley's son and that he would "show up here and there."
I'd love to see Bronson Pinchot and Judge Reinhold reprise their roles too -- I'm sure they're not busy with anything.
