Beyonce and Other Big Names to Perform At Obama Inauguration
Several Different Styles of Music Will Be Performed at the Presidential Inauguration
Beyonce is one of three lucky musical performers who've been selected to perform at President Barack Obama's second inauguration.
Also singing for Obama and his friends, family and minions at the inaugural ball will be Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor.
The event, scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, will see the big name singers step away from the genres of music that made them famous. Beyonce perform the national anthem, Clarkson "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and Taylor and his sweetly melodic voice will tackle "America the Beautiful."
"Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country," the President said in a statement.
The day's events will also include the swearing-in outside the Capitol Building and a lobster, clam chowder, grilled bison luncheon for 200 congressional leaders, Supreme Court Justices and Cabinet members.
