Billie Joe Armstrong Hospitalized, Green Day Cancels Concert [VIDEO]
Green Day Video Explains Billie Joe Armstrong in Hospital
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to the hospital, forcing the band to cancel a concert at the I-Day Festival in Bologna, Italy.
What happened to Armstrong?
In an effort to explain what happened, the other members of Green Day released a YouTube video, apologizing for the canceled concert.
Bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool didn't give details about Armstrong's condition or reason for hospitalization, but said that his doctors advised him not to perform.
Dirnt says in the video, "Hi, this is Mike and Tre from Green Day. Obviously, we apologize profusely ... this is really unfortunate. But due to Billie ... Billie got rushed to the hospital last night due to illness."
He added, "The doctors don't think it's a good idea for him to play today. This sucks. We really, really were looking forward to playing in Bologna as the highlight of our tour."
Cool explained, "We're beyond devastated, we're as sad as you guys are. Billie is extremely upset about it, and we'll see you very soon."
"We apologize. We love you guys and we'll be back as soon as we can," Dirnt says.
Here's hoping it's nothing too serious.
