Billy Burke Wants His Daughter to Be Like Bella

You probably all know Billy Burke as Charlie Swan, Bella's dad in the Twilight movies. But what you may not know is that Billy just had a little daughter of her own. And playing Charlie gave him a bit of insight into being a parent.

Well, we don't think Billy Burke necessarily wants his daughter falling in love with any vampires, but other than that, we think Bella Swan is a pretty good kid. Billy says, "She and I, from the get-go, got along real well, both on and off set... There was this natural comfortable-ness to our thing that we do." We're not really sure if he's talking about Bella or Kristen Stewart, but we're willing to bet it's a little bit of both!

Billy continues, "what's changed for me most in conjuring up the father/daughter stuff is that I have a kid now. My daughter was born just after the making of Twilight. She's 15 months old now, and so I now have a deeper and more realistic understanding of what it's like to have a daughter in the world."

Even though Billy only played Kristen Stewart's dad in a movie, he did take on a very fatherly role. He acted as a father that many of us can probably relate to having. And he saw how his actions made Bella react (and think). We're sure this is totally valuable now that Billy is a father in real life!

In fact, Billy can already see a little bit of Bella in his daughter, Bluesey: "Bella's got an old soul, and I think that I'm already recognizing things that might be looking like an old soul in my kid right now - and I would like that. I would like her to be a worldly person. I would like her to help me along the way, because parenthood is something that I never even expected to be involved in, and I'm going to need all the help that I can get." Awww, we love it!

Billy isn't ready to think about his daughter dating yet and we can't blame him. But someday he better watch out for that Edward Cullen on his doorstep!
