Blake Lively to Play Carrie Bradshaw in 'Carrie Diaries'?
Blake as a younger Sarah Jessica Parker?
Have you read the prequel to Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries? It was an adorable book about Carrie Bradshaw's young life before she comes to New York City and meets her best friends forever. It's being made into a movie and it sounds like Blake Lively could be up for the lead role.

I can definitely see Blake Lively as a younger Carrie Bradshaw. She is super stylish, beautiful, and youthful-looking. And I guess she could pass for a young Sarah Jessica Parker. The only problem? The Carrie Diaries mainly takes place when Carrie Bradshaw is in high school... And though I know Blake Lively played a high school girl on Gossip Girl, do you think the 23-year-old is just too old now? I'm sure she'll find a way to pull it off.
Not to mention, it could be possible that producers are planning to change the book a bit and adapt it to the big-screen. Because a source is telling Grazia magazine, "The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie's first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man."
.
I wonder what else they'll be changing in the book. After all, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha don't really make appearances in the book version since Carrie doesn't meet them until she gets to the city. But will the movie add them in anyway?

And furthermore, does the world really want another Sex and the City movie? The sequel to the first movie didn't do so well in theaters, which is why there won't be a Sex and the City 3. So, is a prequel with different characters playing the familiar roles really in demand? I'm sure I'll watch it, but I don't know how it will do in theaters.
Are you excited to learn Blake Lively could be playing a young Carrie Bradshaw? I think she'll do an amazing job in the role and I can't wait to see what she's wearing!
