Boxed Wine Takes on New Shape -- a Handbag!

Boxed wine doesn't have to be so ... boxy.

Check out this stylish new box o'wine, that looks like a fancy handbag.

Heck, it even has a carrying strap, so you can tote it along and pour whenever the fancy strikes.

Classy, not so much. Fun? Yes.

The Vernissage wine, which they call, "Bag-in-Bag," comes in red, white, and rosé.

The box design even won "Most Innovative" at the Carton Awards, according to the Vernissage website.

But how does it taste?

While there's no information about that just yet, the website boasts, "The thought behind Vernissage is a playful approach to the curious and modern wine consumer. At the same time, a woman´s touch has propelled the Bag-in-Bag wine from the practical to the elegant."

See? Boxed wine can be totally elegant.

As for pricing, Vernissage reports that a 1.5-liter Bag-in-Bag will be around $20, while a 3-liter size will be $40.
