Jane Pitt Doesn't Share Son Brad Pitt's Political Beliefs

Brad Pitt's mom, Jane Pitt, is getting plenty of attention, following a letter she wrote that supports Mitt Romney and slams gay marriage.

Mother and son don't exactly share the same political beliefs.

Brad, as we know, is a Democrat, supports President Obama and is in favor of gay marriage.

His mom, however, seems to have a more conservative outlook on such things, writing a letter to the local paper in support of Mitt Romney.

In a letter to the editor of The Springfield News-Leader, she calls Obama "a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

Ouch.

Further, Pitt's mom urges Christians to vote for Romney, writing, "any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon."

She adds, "any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney's opponent, Barack Hussein Obama -- a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

There was some confusion about whether it was, in fact, Pitt's mom who penned the letter, which the paper clarified: "To clear up earlier confusion, the News-Leader has verified the letter writer is the mother of actor Brad Pitt and local businessman Doug Pitt."

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but would you have guessed Pitt's mom's beliefs were so polar opposite of his? Especially since he and his baby mama, Angelina Jolie, have long said that one of the main reasons they've yet to tie the knot is because they don't feel right doing it until all of their friends can have the same priveledge.  Bet it's going to be an awkward Thanksgiving chez Mama Pitt.

So what? Poor woman, get off her back. I am an ardent Obama supporter and I happen to disagree with her sentiments 100%. But in this country she did what we know as exercise her right to free speech. I do it daily, it is a very precious thing, and I am determined to protect it. A pathetic national hit piece on a private citizen for writing a letter to a local paper. I love this country with all my heart, but this crud has to stop. Is there no shame left anymore?
