Bristol Palin Breaks Up With Levi Johnston

Less than two months after rekindling her relationship with baby daddy Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin, daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has called the relationship off...again.

People magazine reports Palin ended her engagement with Johnston—with whom she has a 19-month-old son, Tripp—after Johnston told her that he may have impregnated another teenage girl. Ironically, Johnston made the revelation on July 14, the same day that the couple announced their marriage plans to the world.

Says Palin, "It's over. I broke up with him."

But the potential arrival of a step-sibling for Tripp—the anonymous other woman has denied the paternity—wasn't the only deciding factor. Palin, 19, tells the magazine that she'd finally had it with Johnston's cold-shoulder attitude, and was infuriated when Johnston starred in a music video for the song "After Love" by Brittani Senser, which poked fun at the Palin clan: "There's been no remorse...The final straw was him flying to Hollywood for what he told me was to see some hunting show but come to find out it was that music video mocking my family. He's just obsessed with the limelight and I got played." 

Sarah Palin, who has maintained a wary attitude toward the couple's reunion, tells People, "I wish for Bristol to be able to move forward in life with her same forgiving, gracious, optimistic spirit, but from henceforth she'll know to trust but verify. Bristol is strong, she is independent, and she knows what is right for her son."

As for Bristol herself, she still hopes to eventually provide a stable, two-parent home for Tripp: "I have faith that I'll find it. Through this whole experience I know I need a man who's going to be completely honest with me and someone who loves me and Tripp and wants to be with him all the time. I also want someone who has religious beliefs and a good family."
