Brittany Murphy's Death Was Preventable, Caused By Drugs, Pneumonia, Anemia
Coroner's reports comes in
Brittany Murphy's cause of death was released by the coroner this week, and it's very sad. The coroner says that it was a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and drugs that killed her, and that her death was preventable. What if someone had taken her to the hospital to be treated... before she took Vicoprofen, a painkiller, and the antidepressant Fluoxetine, topped off with cough syrup and other OTC meds?
TMZ weighed in on the coroner's report, saying that "L.A. County Coroner officials believe Brittany's condition was 'treatable' but no one took her to the hospital in time."
"As for the multiple drugs found in her system, we're told they were both prescription, including medicine for cramps, and over-the-counter medications, including cough syrup. Our sources say the drugs 'pushed her over the line' but the underlying problems were the pneumonia and anemia," TMZ reported.
Brittany was found dead in her Hollywood home on the morning of December 20th, and Simon Monjack, her husband, and her mother, Sharon, previously believed that her heart murmur kileld her. They also denied her using of illegal drugs and having an eating disorder.
The full autopsy report will be released in two weeks. Do you think Simon Monjack is going to start pointing fingers again? He recently blamed Warner Brothers for Brittany's death, saying that being dropped from Happy Feet's sequel triggered a fatal heart attack.
"They killed her," Monjack tells The Daily Beast's Gerald Posner. "It's a cruel town ... You're disposable as an actress or actor."
