Nobody Comes Between Brooke and Her Ejector Seat

For the first time in three years, Brooke Shields will be back on our television screens -- this time in a role that's atypical of the ones she usually choses.

Shields, 47, who famously became a household name as a tween when she appeared in racy (for the day anyway) ads for Calvin Klein Jeans and starred in "risqué" movies like "Pretty Baby" and "The Blue Lagoon," had her last show, "Lipstick Jungle" canceled by NBC in 2009, but is now ready to gear up for a role that's anything but prissy.

The mother of two is going to join the cast of "Army Wives" as an Air Force Colonel - one who's a decorated fighter pilot. To hear exec producer, Jeff Melvoin talk about it, the production is stoked to welcome the veteran actress to the cast. "We're all very excited about season seven, in which a new tribe emerges from the shadow of tragedy," he said in a statement released by Lifetime.

The 13-episode seventh season will see the return of main cast members like Catherine Bell and Kelli Williams while Kim Delaney's character (who was M.I.A. from the final several episodes of last season) will not be back.

Fans of the show - and of Shields - can tune in to Lifetime Television on March 10 at 9pm to catch the season opener.
