Burt Reynolds: Sally Field Was The One That Got Away [PHOTOS]
Reynolds Tells All To Piers Morgan
Burt Reynolds used to be the personification of masculine virility in Hollywood. With his unruly chest hair, steel-melting smirk and a mustache even Ron Swanson would be jealous of, the actor had his veritable pick of beautiful ladies throughout his career. But now Reynolds says there's only ONE woman who truly captured his heart ... and he completely blew it.
In an interview with Piers Morgan's Life Stories, the Deliverance star opened up about some of his infamous relationships with Hollywood hotties, including Dinah Shore, actress Loni Anderson, country singer Tammy Wynette and tennis star Chris Evert.
But it was his relationship with Sally Field, whom he dated and co-starred with in several films, that has stuck with him all these years.
"Had I been smarter, you know, with one lady... I still would be together with her. Sally. Without a doubt. I asked her (to marry me) at the wrong time. She asked me at the wrong time. I missed out on that one, that's for sure. I think we would have been very happy, yes. I'd like to think so. I'm not sure she'd say so. She's just a very special woman. I really handled that one pretty bad."
Then when asked if the actress knows about his feelings, Burt replied, "No. But she does now!"
A sad story, really. But, hey, maybe there's still some time to rekindle their romance. In that case, may we suggest to Sally that she check out the following pics of Burt in his prime.
