Cameron Douglas’ Girlfriend Arrested for Smuggling Heroin
The girlfriend of Cameron Douglas has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle heroin to him in a court, where he was appearing on drugs charges. Law-enforcement sources say Kelly Sott was caught passing an electric toothbrush to Douglas, the son of Oscar-winning Hollywood star, Michael Douglas.
She is alleged to have stuffed small "dime bags" of the drug into the handle of the toothbrush, then tried to pass it to him in a conference room yesterday in federal court, in New York, after a hearing on his charges. Douglas, 30, was arrested last month at a hotel in New York, and is accused of smuggling and dealing the Class A drug crystal meth over the course of three years. It is alleged he delivered the drug in person or via the FedEx delivery system from a California hotel. One source at the courthouse told local news media that Sott looked "tired and worn". A spokeswoman for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) referred calls to the US Attorney's office. A representative for the US Attorney's office was unavailable for comment. Cameron Douglas is a part-time DJ and has acted in movies, including the 2003 drama It Runs In The Family, which also starred his father and grandfather, Kirk Douglas.
