If a Sex and the City Prequel Happens, Selena Gomez Could Star
Though the television show is long gone and word has it that there won't be a third Sex and the City movie (thanks to the underwhelming Morrocan romp of the last flick), Candace Bushnell is still writing books about the fashionable four and rumors are swirling about a possible prequel movie. Bushnell is busy promoting her new novel, Summer and the City which details the lives of the quartet before they were fabulous. And, of course, she's gunning to get the book, along with her first prequel The Carrie Diaries, into theaters. While The Carrie Diaries follows Carrie Bradshaw in her high school years, Summer and the City has her moving to NYC and becoming friends with the ladies who will be her friends forever, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda.
.
It's already being rumored that Gossip Girl's Blake Lively could play Sarah Jessica Parker's younger Carrie Bradshaw and although Bushnell says, 'I'm going to get into trouble for this, but I was looking at some pictures of Selena Gomez today and thinking 'she'd make a really good young Charlotte.' She's so pretty. I was like... gosh, wouldn't she be great?"

Now that she mentions it, there is quite a resemblance between Gomez and Kristin Davis' York. But Bushnell immediately worries that fans will disagree as she asks, "Am I right or wrong? I'm not good at this. If I say something like that, then the next thing I know, people are like, no!"
Can't you just imagine a young Charlotte York dating a guy like Justin Bieber? Hey, if she can date and marry Harry Goldenblatt, everything's possible.
