Catwoman's Vegan? Anne Hathaway's 'Dark Knight' Diet
"It Was A Psychological Terrorist"
While Batman fought Bane in the new 'Dark Knight Rises' film, Catwoman battled her own intimidating nemesis: her costume. In a new interview, actress Anne Hathaway details her struggle with fitting into the slinky leather costume -- and how a vegan diet helped her do it.

In an interview with Allure, Hathaway, 29, says she spent an entire year fretting over how she would fit into the skin-tight burglar outfit worn by her character, Selina Kyle.
"It was a psychological terrorist," Hathaway said. "The suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit... It dominated my year. I didn't understand how you could be thin and strong. I went into the gym for ten months and didn't come out."
Not only did she have to work out, but she also had to drastically change her diet. Hathaway's nutritional coach, Jackie Keller, told Shape magazine that the actress lived on a diet of miso soup, brown rise, tempeh sandwiches and vegetarian egg rolls.

The move to a vegan diet during filming has prompted Hathaway to try it out full-time. Of course, that didn't happen without a few hiccups.
"After I finished the rooftop fight [scene], I ate four slices of pizza and split a bottle of red wine with my guy," she said. "I hadn't eaten like that in months. I felt so ill. By the time the movie finished, I decided to give veganism a try. You can't go hog-wild as a vegan. You can eat a lot of pasta and have a few vegan pastries"
