Charlize Theron Drops Role, Angelina Jolie to Replace
One movie star's out, another one's in.
The upcoming thriller flick, Tourist, about a woman who goes undercover to capture her lover, has taken two hits at once. Its director, Bharat Nalluri, dropped from the project and then the film's lead actress, Charlize Theron, made her own exit. But now Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks to replace Theron in the main role.
Production for the film is set for early next year, so producers may need to hurry in signing another actress. Jolie, who just finished filming the action film Salt, is rumored to be Theron's replacement.
The film is actually based on the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer, which follows a young tourist as she finds herself in the middle of an international hunt for a global criminal -- her ex-lover. She is then recruited by Interpol to reconnect, seduce and trap him.

Tourist already saw a switch in the lead male role, as Tom Cruise was reportedly interested early on in the process. However, Cruise backed off and Terminator: Salvation star Sam Worthington stepped in.
