You loved -- loved -- our story on Chelsea Handler's boyfriend, animal trainer Dave Salmoni. But sorry cats, the mating game's over: a new report has Chelsea indicating Salmoni couldn't handle her.

On Wednesday night's episode of "Chelsea Lately," Chelsea Handler half-joked that her roll with David Salmoni had been sniped: "I've decided to consult for other networks," Handler said. "Up until a couple weeks ago, I was working very intimately with the Animal Planet, but unfortunately, that contract was terminated."

After audience laughter, Handler added, "However, I enjoyed being in bed with them and may hook up for an occasional project."

A Chelsea Handler insider has revealed that while she doesn't talk much about her private life in private, she loves sharing it with her audience. "She saves all commentary about her personal life for her own show," said the source.

Although that wasn't the case when Handler split with the former head of E! programming.
