China to Open First Sex Park
Ooo, I wonder if they'll have snow cones.
In a country of one and a half billion people, you'd think sex would be a familiar topic. But when plans were announced to build a sex-themed park in one of China's biggest cities, the 3-letter word reared its ugly tabooed head.
It's called Love Land, and it will feature exhibitions of sex and how it is practiced around the world, as well as lessons in sex-history. Throughout the park will be sculptures of naked humans, next to giant replicas of their genitalia.
According to promoters, the park will promote safe-sex education and serve as a forum for people to discuss sex-related topics in a healthy, safe environment. Also, as park manager Lu Xiaoqing says, it will help adults "enjoy a harmonious sex life."
But detractors of the park claim it is offensive and will be damaging to the nation's children. A large portion of the country believes that sex is a private matter and that such an exhibition is particularly vulgar, so officials are debating whether the park will ever be built.
So the next time you're in China head on down to Chongqing on the Yangtze river. And if you happen to see a 50-foot granite penis on the horizon, you'll know you've made it to Love Land.
