Backstage Bickers Explained

Just Wednesday we reported that Maroon 5's Adam Levine had tattled on Christina Aguilera for beating him up on The Voice. Levine went on to laugh off rumors of a coaches' rivalry, but now that Christina Augilera's salary has been revealed, we've learned who's really pulling the punches. (And why Xtina ever agreed to this gig in the first place.)

Wednesday we reported Levine's half-joking outcry over Aguilera's assault behind the scenes of the NBC reality show The Voice. Levine laughed off the notion that he and Aguilera "bicker like brother and sister," saying that they, along with Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green have sometimes been more than a little competitive with each other off-camera because they want their teams to win.

Clearly, the one who's already winning is Christina Aguilera, whose salary for this gig has just been revealed. What does the Burlesque star earn per episode? A hot $225,000 in direct contrast to Levine's and Green's salaries which hover at around $75,000.

Seventy-five grand is surely something to sing about...but what's your take on Aguilera's earning power? Is she worth it? Or would you watch even if she wasn't involved?

Not convinced Aguilera's enough of a contender for such a pumped-up paycheck? Consider this: her pipes. Plus, as the only female coach, series execs reportedly feel she's been a big part of the show's appeal. Meanwhile, salary discrepancy or no, word has it The Voice coaches are pretty darn content with their payday: they're all returning for season two.
