Claudia Schiffer's Nude, Pregnant 'Vogue' Cover
Claudia Schiffer pulls a Demi on the Deutsch version of Vogue.
German supermodel queen Claudia Schiffer appears on a controversial new cover of German Vogue. Some critics feel the vision of the nude, pregnant 39-year-old is inappropriate while others say it's a cheap knockoff of Annie Leiobovitz's portrayal of Demi Moore. You think?
Claudia Schiffer is shaggy, supple and smooth in this photo, which was shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Schiffer's Vogue photos are garnering criticism as a subpar throwback to the Leibovitz/Moore image in Vanity Fair in 1991...but Claudia Schiffer looks fantastic, and has said that having babies makes her feel beautiful. The Vogue cover appears to have been shot to coincide with German Mother's Day, which reportedly falls on the same day as the holiday in North America.
Schiffer has touted her love of pregnancy and motherhood, saying, "I love being pregnant. You can do whatever you want. You don't feel guilty, because I used to feel guilty about having a day off."
Of pregnancy weight gain, Claudia Schiffer has said, "You know, something really strange happened to me. Before my pregnancies, I was someone who had to watch their weight. I had a personal trainer, I was working out, I would never eat anything sweet ... Anyway, I got pregnant and when I was breastfeeding it just came off. I can eat whatever I want. If I don't eat enough, I will lose weight."
Claudia Schiffer is married to film director Matthew Vaughn. Schiffer and Vaughn announced in January that they were expecting a baby girl, due this month. They already have two children, Caspar, 7, and Clementine, 5.
