Corey Haim Got 550 Pills Illegally Before Death
Stockpile much?
Corey Haim's official cause of death is still pending the toxicology report, but he probably had a pill problem, judging from the number of prescriptions and the sheer volume of pills he managed to get three months prior to his death. 550 prescription pills, to be exact.
Us magazine reports that three months before Haim's death in March, Haim filled enough prescriptions to receive 550 pills. Although it first sounds like gossip, the information was actually released by California Attorney General Jerry Brown on Tuesday. Sad.
Seven different doctors are involved in the post-mortem scandal, but they claim that they were tricked by Haim into prescribing the medication. They are currently under investigation for providing Haim with medication like Soma, Xanax, Valium, and Vicodin.
This news follows previous reports that Haim was involved in a "prescription-drug ring," which was discovered after falsified prescription pads were found in Haim's home. Despite the drug-ring related prescription pads, the actual pills found at Haim's when he died were prescribed by a doctor.
Are you surprised at the sheer volume of pills Haim managed to get? It's amazing how much effort is put into obtaining these prescriptions, but it's heartbreaking that these were only discovered after Haim's unfortunate passing.
