Crappiest TV Shows of 2008
These shows were flatter than your Bubbe's latkes.
When we think of the hours we wasted watching these shows we want to call crazy Walter from Fringe and request a trip back in time. Until he gets back to us, we'll kvetch about the biggest boobs we saw on the tube this year.
90210: We'll admit "The Next Generation" had two very large strikes against it. First, an unfortunate Tuesday time slot, which meant it would air after Monday's Gossip Girl. Second, the legacy of its predecessor. But you gotta bet big to win big. Unfortunately, this big bet came up empty. Bad writing, boring characters, and stale plot lines made 90210 a zip code we never wanted to visit.
Grey's Anatomy: We went back and forth on whether to include Grey's on this list. This season has been better than last, but that's not saying a whole lot. Between dead Denny, disappearing George, crazy Izzie, and butchered pigs, Seattle Grace has definitely fallen in the rankings.
The Hills: What can we say about this disaster that we haven't said before? How we can be sucked into 30 minutes of nothingness week-after-week, we'll never understand. Eye-rolling, passive aggressiveness, fake storylines, and Speidi; it's the regularly scheduled programming in Hell.
Dancing with the Stars: While this season wasn't the worst in DWTS history, there was one element so completely disastrous, so utterly agonizing it kept us tormented for weeks on end. Its name: Cloris Leachman. Any show we have to watch with a pillow held over our eyes is bad.
Private Practice: This show beat out other baddies like Family Guy (unfunny and full of butt chins), Charm School (unfunny and full of deadbeats), and Heroes (confusing and full of unintelligible metaphors) to make our list. Why ABC took one good show (Grey's Anatomy) and split it to make two mediocre (at best) shows is still a mystery to us. The amazing Addison (Kate Walsh) has been saddled with awful dialogue, a tight-wad best friend, lamely sensationalized cases, and a boo-hoo boyfriend. And they said LA was sunny!
