DVD Releases: James Franco Tiny and Totally Stoned
New DVDs with a whole lotta weed.
Check out what's new on DVD today. Beware the contact high.
James Franco and Seth Rogen play stoners on the run in Pineapple Express. The Apatow team (Superbad, Knocked Up, 40-Year-Old Virgin) manage to add some sweetness to this weed-filled romp. And lest you think this is just a dudes smokin' doobes movie, we'll have you know James Franco received a Golden Globe nomination for his turn as a lazy, hazy dealer. Must be some good shiz.
The little green plant is also at the center of The Wackness. So too are flannel shirts, backpacks, and Biggie. It's 1994 in NYC, and Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) is dealing pot and crushing on his therapist's stepdaughter (Olivia Thirlby).
The crushing stakes get higher in Season 2 of The Tudors. There's less royal porn but more royal intrigue to be had in the second season of the Showtime drama. The Reformation's on the rise, and Anne Boleyn is falling fast. Seduction, scandal, scheming... it's like a medieval Gossip Girl.
