Daryl Hannah Arrested At Texas Pipeline Protest [Plus, Hot Photos of Her Back in the Day]
'Splash' Star Handcuffed Next To 78-Year-Old Great-Grandmother
The only way they're going to build a pipeline from Canada to the Gulf Coast is over the dead body of Daryl Hannah. The Kill Bill actress was arrested while protesting the project at a farm in Texas.
Hannah, 51, was charged with criminal trespassing after refusing to move out of the way of construction machinery in Winnsboro, Texas, 100 miles east of Dallas.
Hannah was protesting the construction of the controversial $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline that would bring crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to refineries in Texas.
The actress and other protestors say the pipeline is an extreme danger to the environment, and that the chance of a spill is too high. But the oil company says the protestors are wrong and are putting themselves in danger.
"It is unfortunate Ms. Hannah and other out-of-state activists have chosen to break the law by illegally trespassing on private property," a spokesman for TransCanada said in an email. He added that the protestors were "putting their own safety and the safety of others at risk."
So while Hannah spends the evening in the local jail, we've assembled some pictures of the actress from throughout her career. From the looks of it, protesting (and bad plastic surgery) can really do a number on you.
