Dennis Rodman is Broke (And Drunk)
Rodman is No Longer The Life of the Party
Remember when Dennis Rodman was full of life and out to turn heads and wag tongues -- all while shining on the basketball court?
Sadly, those days seem to be long behind him.
According to his manager who spoke with ABCNews.com, Rodman has a "well-documented drinking problem, and all the stress from the divorce and not seeing his kids isn't helping." Viewers of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" will recall that the ex NBA star appeared on the third season of the show.
Court papers filed today reveal that the former Bulls star is also struggling financially and is unable to afford the payments due his ex wife for support of their 9 and 10 year old children. Rodman's lawyer says that he is "broke and cannot afford any additional fees" and added that he is "extremely sick."
What set this revelation in motion was the fact that his third ex-wife, Michelle, has alleged that Rodman is $808,935 delinquent in child support payments (he's reportedly supposed to be paying $50,000 a month per child). The ex-rebound king is also apparently in arrears for over $50,000 in spousal support. His lawyer maintains that "it is absolutely untrue that Mr. Rodman failed to pay child or spousal support. Mr. Rodman has always provided support to his family to the best of his ability and will continue to do so."
Stay tuned. Sadly, for all involved, especially the children, this seems to just be getting started.
