You must have a lot of 3D movies in your future

There's no denying that 3D is the way of the future. And we're going to see more and more of it as time goes on. There's also no denying that 3D glasses can be might ugly. So, would you shell out big bucks for a pair of designer 3D glasses?

We happen to think this is a little bit premature. No, we don't love donning those big ugly plastic (or paper) 3D glasses when we're headed to see a 3D movie. But then again, it's dark in the theater and everyone else is wearing them too, so what's the big deal?

But some companies are assuming we're going to jump on the designer 3D glasses trend early. After all, we're willing to shell out the big bucks on prescription glasses and sunglasses, so why not 3D glasses, too? Look3D is collaborating with RealD for Look3D Eyewear. And allegedly, Ray Ban isn't far behind in creating their own line of 3D glasses.

According to Look3D's website, "At Look3D Eyewear we strongly believe that everyone deserves to see and be seen in the best 3D glasses on the market... Look3D offers a number of collections at various price points and are manufactured to RealD's specific engineering specifications carrying the RealD certification badge to ensure this quality is maintained. Our goal is to ensure movie lovers experience Digital 3D as intended by filmmakers." They also have a whole list of movies that are currently scheduled to be in 3D. In case you needed more convincing.

Look3D actually has four different collections: Disposable Collection, Movie Collection, Designer Collection, and Directors Collection. And while some of them are kind of cute, we don't see any word on pricing, so we can't judge them too much.

Do you think you'll be needing a pair of designer 3D glasses any time soon?
